14 Duets for Trumpet
Edited by Michael Sachs and Joseph Alessi
Released in November 2007 Michael Sachs, Principal Trumpet of The Cleveland Orchestra and Joseph Alessi, Principal Trombone of The New York Philharmonic, have put together a collection of duets based on music by Telemann, Handel, Bach, Boismortier, and Mozart. These pieces are compiled in a unique format which provides for a variety of instrumental combinations. The duos can be played with two trumpets, two trombones, or one of each. In addition, the trumpet or the trombone can play either the top or the bottom part of each piece. This mix-and-match flexibility offers a wide range of technical challenges that should give each player the maximum benefit of playing in a range of keys, registers, and difficulty levels. With some duets, there are optional changes of octaves for better voicing depending on the instrument combination and parts being played by the performers.
Available here for $14.95
Autographed by Mr. Sachs for $15.95
